I am an avid tent camper and I’ve been looking around for a long time trying to find good advice on camping with my dog. These articles are by far the best. Absolutely everything I need to know when I take my dog camping. I enjoy your website very much.

    Hi Steve,

Super article…. It really tells me everything…. I’m getting a dog next month and looking forward to some summer camping fun with it. Thanks!

Thanks Ben, I am really happy you enjoyed it! You must be so excited to be getting a dog soon. I’m sure you guys will have a blast! There is nothing better than going camping with your best friend. Have fun!

  • This article is great on its own, and really does a good job linking to other relevant articles. I am a rafting guide in Colorado, and when I do the multi-day trips we offer, I have been putting my Lab in a pet hotel. I think i’ll keep researching this subject and see if its possible to bring her along.

Thanks for the great feedback. A Pet Hotel?! Wow that sounds pretty posh and expensive! I’m sure your lab would love coming along with you on a rafting trip. Although I am definitely no expert, I believe she’d need a life vest. Keep researching and see what other people have done. The Pet Hotel is good but I’m positive she’d enjoy rafting with you more. Good luck and have fun!

Thank you for these tips and advice. I have 3 dogs so I would much rather take them with me than find them a “dogsitter”.

First class advice. I think you’ve covered every aspect in depth. A checklist is so important even when it’s humans only camping. When the dog is coming along also there’s even more to consider! Great article!
